While studying MLI, students progress in gaining a deep understanding of innovation management and coaching, product development processes, digital business models and intercultural leadership in the program-specific in-depth modules of the Master's degree program in Management, Leadership, Innovation - with supervision in small groups.

What the program offers to you

The Master‘s degree program „Management, Leadership, Innovation“ is dedicated to the increasing importance of innovation in intercultural, digital and technological contexts. It supports students from different countries and disciplines in developing competencies for building innovation in interdisciplinary, and constantly changing fields of action.
 

The program is tailored to address the diverse and evolving challenges and needs faced by modern businesses and entrepreneurs. By combining solid theoretical foundations with relevant business management strategies, and best practice examples from various sectors, the program enables students to develop and implement goal-oriented solutions for a wide range of company-specific transformation processes.

How to get admitted to this program

  • Completion of a professionally qualifying degree program with a minimum grade of 2.3 (within German grading system).
  • Submission of a research proposal ("One-Pager") on an MLI-related issue (PDF).
  • Proof of English language skills on the level B2 or higher. (German language skills are not mandatory)
  • Please fill out the checklist (PDF) and add it to your application documents.
  • As part of the application process, you are forwarded to a short video interview. This is used to further assess your scientific aptitude.

Please note: If you have not yet completed your Bachelor's degree at the time of application, but have at least 165 credits, you are allowed to apply for the Master's program MLI. Proof of completion of the professionally qualified Bachelor's degree program must then be provided by the end of the first semester of the Master's degree program.

Languages:

The program Management, Leadership, Innovation and all its modules are completely held in English.

German is not mandatory for this study program. Language requirements: English B2 or higher.

We accept internationally recognized language tests that correspond to level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for languages.
Examples of Accepted Language Tests:

  • TOEFL: paper‐based: 543 points, computer‐based: 212 points, Internet‐based: B2 level points, iBT: 72 points.
  • TOEIC: B2 level points.
  • University of Cambridge: FCE grade B or above, BEC Vantage, CELS Higher.
  • IELTS: Minimum Band 6.0.
  • GMAT: minimum 600.
  • ILEC: B2 and C1.

Course of study

The four semesters of the Master's programme offer you a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the areas of Management, Leadership and Innovation.

The first year teaches you fundamental skills in international leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship. You will acquire analytical skills and explore global trends and technologies. A particular highlight is the third semester, in which you will gain valuable practical experience – either through a semester abroad, an internship or by developing your own start-up project. In the final fourth semester, you will carry out a practical project and complete your Master's thesis, in which you will apply the knowledge you have acquired to a complex management or innovation issue.

The program opens up a wide range of career and development paths. It offers students the opportunity to found and drive their own startup during their studies. After graduating, they will posess the relevant skills to further develop their startup, join an emerging startup as a first-hour employee or to contribute to a futureoriented, international company in the field of innovation management. Additionally, graduates have the option to follow a research-oriented career, working in research institutes, universities or other scientific organizations.

Graduates can apply their knowledge and skills in all forms of companies - as independent entrepreneurs in their own startup, in regional SMEs, in corporates and in academic institutions.

Perpectives:

  • Cross-divisional functions with a high requirement profile in future-oriented, internationally oriented companies, e.g. as Product Manager, Project Manager, Account Manager or Innovation Manager
  • Founder, First hour employee or Consultant within a startup ecosystem
